The Cultural Council is putting a book together on the Young Treasures, formerly Pawleys Island Youth Arts, scholarship program. It started in 1993, and has been going strong ever since. We hope to capture the success and impact this program has had on our community's youth within this book, and use it as a tool to tell the story. The scholarship program is solely funded on donations. It is our goal to use this book to help garner future scholarships and continue to grow the program.

So much research is currently being conducted by Cultural Counicl volunteers and staff to contact past scholars as well as compiling information on the recitals and Dr. Lee Mintons's, the founder, vision. Since the program is 16 years old you can imagine that we have quite a task on our hands in doing such research, and unfortunately, we have hit some roadblocks.

The Cultural Council took over the Pawleys Island Youth Arts program in 2004, and we have some information from 2001-2004. However, we have no information for the years 1993-2000. Some information we do have is outdated, such as contact information on past scholars. Below is a list of scholars we are trying to reach. If you are on this list, or know somebody that is on this list, please contact us. We would like to include them in the book. Also, if you have been part of the program in some way from 1993-2000, please contact us to piece those years together.
