Shirley Lawing is a native of North Carolina, but now is seeded in South Carolina.  A self-taught artist, her impressionistic style clearly reflects her longstanding passion for painting and ongoing love of landscape. 

She continues to perfect her skills through study and workshops, primarily oil.  Having sold many paintings throughout the U.S. and Canada, she currently exhibits at Brookgreen Gardens's gift shop and gallery, Fontinello's Italian Restaurant in Murrells Inlet, SC, Crystal Lite Cafe, and Garden City Beach Cafe.  Lawing is a member of the Seacoast Artist Guild and the Cultural Council of Georgetown County.
