The Seacoast Artist Guild of South Carolina, Inc. is a local non-profit arts organization with members hailing from Horry and Georgetown Counties. It was established by a group of artists interested in sharing their love of the arts with others in the coastal area. Seacoast is dedicated to bringing opportunities to its members through art exhibits, art sales, workshops, and more. As part of their mission, the Guild works to open possiblities for those who can't afford to take art lessons and nurture their skills. They also strive to reach the youth of the area through the visual arts.

Friday, September 18 - Grand Opening & Ribbon Cutting of the Gallery at Applewood Restaurant
April Jordan, Membership Chair of Georgetown County Chamber of Commerce, at far right in photo with Ron Blanchard, President of Seacoast Artist Guild, prepare to cut the ribbon during the Grand Opening of the Gallery at Applewood, where 50 Guild members display and sell their art. Located in the Applewood House of Pancakes on Ocean Highway in the Litchfield community. Gallery at Applewood has sold more than 100 pieces of art in the past 3 months it has been open. The Guild became a non-profit organization in 2003, and since 2007 artist membership has increased from 32 to 110 artists from a variety of mediums, including watercolor, oil, acrylic, pastel, fine art photography, and 3-dimensional art.
SCAG President, Ron Blanchard said "we have such dedicated and strong membership we are flourishing beyond our expectations. We thank Amy Vlahos, Applewood owner, for her generosity and kindness she has shown the artists as well as the Cultural Council of Georgetown County and the Georgetown County Chamber of Commerce for their support." More than 100 people enjoyed the Grand Opening reception.
June 1-5 - Novice/Beginner Show & Art Sale
The week of June 1-5, Seacoast Artist Guild sponsored a Novice/Beginner Art Show & Sale at Applewood House of Pancakes Gallery in Litchfield. The show began with a breakfast buffet and awards ceremony on Monday, June 1. The entrants were supported by their families and friends as awards were announced and presented.
"Best in Show" went to Susan Fitzgerald for her photograph titled "46th Street", which was taken during the Spring 2009 fires in Myrtle Beach. Here are some pictures below from the show.
