Artist at Plantersville Summer Academy
Jul 16, 2010 --

Renowned fabric artist Zenobia Washington worked with over 100 students (K-HS) on July 19 and 20, 2010 at Plantersville Summer Academy.  The Cultural Council coordinated with Ms. Washington to provide the young people with supplies to make the bodies of dolls or figurines, which were constructed of newspaper, masking tape and paint.  On Tuesday they dressed their projects with a lavish amount of fabric samples given to the Cultural Council by Integra Fabrics specifically for the project.  The Cultural Council intends to expand its role in providing an art component to existing summer and after-school programs throughout the county.
