Murrells Inlet, SC – Brookgreen offers four extraordinary sculpture/painting workshops this fall taught by some of the most talented sculptors in the country!The classes are available for artists from beginner to advanced levels of skill and range in price from $450 - $650 per participant.
September 28-October 2, Simon Kogan, Olympia , WA will teach Sculpture, Anatomy, Drawing. “It is a one-of-a-kind class where the three become one. It is not about the result or the recipe. It is about understanding and freedom. It is a journey. It is a ride,” described Kogan.
October 5-7, Sandy Scott, Lander, WY will teach Sculpting Birds: Anatomy and Form, Scott will help students determine the difference between a sculpture that is technically adequate and one that has spirit and life.
October 19-23, Stella Ehrich, N. Bennington , VT will teach Landscape Painting in Oil. Students will paint on location (as weather permits) to take advantage of the beautiful views of Brookgreen Gardens . Ehrich will also teach measuring techniques that will help students fine tune their drawing skills and check proportions.
October 26-30, Fred Brownstein, N. Bennington , VT will teach Basic Mold-Making from Clay Model to Plaster Cast. This course is for the student who wants to know how to mold his clay sculpture and make a plaster cast using the traditional waste mold process.
