On January 17, 2009, SOS teamed up with The Bunnelle Foundation and The Village Group at their annual planning retreat. The Village Group hosted a day long extensive training on how to work with other communities agencies to serve the youth and senior citizens in Plantersville.

CEO and Founder, Ray Funnye, planned the day with SOS education department to provide overview of organization's strategic plan, establish short terms goals of the year, and build momentum in the organization with the TVG volunteers and board members. Among the presenters, Mike Shaw from the IRS, and Nancy Bracken from the Bunnelle Foundation. Nancy spent the morning training members on policies and procedures of a non profit board. By the end of the session, members were able to draft a 90 second Elevator Speech about the village group.

Mr. Johnson, Plantersville Elementary Principal, presented updates on the school and welcomed TVG's continued support of the school.
