Nancy Van Buren

Nancy Van Buren grew up in Pennsylvania and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Moore College in Philadelphia. She moved to South Carolina in 1977 as part of a long and successful career as a designer of children's wear, after which she retired to the Lowcountry coast. Along the way Nancy was associated in an advisory role with Moore College of Art, Virginia Commonwealth University, Winthrop College, and Limestone College.

During her retirement, Nancy began to explore a new career in watercolors, studying and taking workshops with many well known instructors. Her work hangs in private collections from South Africa to Singapore. Her travels to all seven continents have greatly influnced her painting. Currently a member of the Georgetown and South Carolina watercolor societies, Waccamaw Arts and Crafts Guild, and Seacoast Artist Guild of South Carolina, Nancy continues to explore her passion for art, concentrating on the watercolor medium.

Work can be view at Georgetown Art Gallery, Kudzu Art Gallery, and Artworks by the Sea.  Check out some of her works below.
