The Cultural Council held its 2nd Annual Chocolate Sunday fundraiser Sunday, October 4 on the Waccamw River at the home of Caroline and Rich Drummond in the Prince George community. With over 100 in attendance, the fundraiser was a success in meeting the Cultural Council's fundraising goals and raising awareness of the Arts Education programs. Guests nibbled on sweets provided by various local restaurants, toured the grounds, sipped chocolate martinis in glasses painted by local artists, and were entertained by some fabulous talents! In addition to entertainment provided by Thom Martin and the Indigo Choral Society Camerata, four of the Council's 2009-2010 Young Treasures scholars performed their best! Special thanks go out to the scholars for their performance and a job well done! They are Margaret Casella, Zhongliang Chen (pictured above left), Luke Gates, and Bryan Van der Riet.
The Cultural Council would also like to thank the Drummonds for hosting the event in a beautiful home! A special thanks also go to Citizens Bank,Palmetto Heritage Bank & Trust, Prince George Premier Real Estate, Stox & Company, Mr. & Mrs. Ted Quantz, Mr. & Mrs. Jack Rockey, Mr. & Mrs. Jay Stokes, Mr. & Mrs. Terry Birch, and Mr. & Mrs. Levon Dunn for their support. The delicious desserts would not have been possible without Austin's, Bistro 217, High Hammock, Hopsewee Plantation, Lakes at Litchfield, and Rice Paddy.
