All artists in Georgetown and Horry Counties are invited to participate in the Cultural Council's Carolina Canvas art show at the end of the summer. Three local judges will critique each work and then award a Best in Show, 1st place and 2nd place. The show will be held in the Litchfield Exchange, August 23-29, 2009.

The judges are local, practicing artists and gallery owner - Cynthia Farnell, Gallery Director at Coastal Carolina University; Rep. Vida Miller, Gray Man Gallery owner; and Barnie Slice, professional artist and instructor.

The Best In Show artwork will be auctioned at the Pawleys Island Festival of Music & Art Wine Gala, September 18, 6pm. The winning artist will receive the proceeds from the auction, while a portion will benefit the first Dr. Lee Minton Young Treasures scholarship. Dr. Minton was the founder of both the Festival and the Young Treasures scholarship program.
