Arts educator and instructor Shana Grugan designs fun projects for kids to get creative on Saturdays! This series starts Saturday, March 13, 2010 and is open to children in grades K-5th. Each series hosts a different project that the students work on over the course of (3) consecutive Saturdays. Art On Saturday is designed to boost the imagination of participating children while exposing them to various visual arts techniques!
Pop Stars! (for K-5th Grades)
Bring your imagination to this class! Students will create and make a papier mache figure using empty plastic soda pop bottles as an armature. The figures will evolve into pop stars during the last session of the class when the students add paint, yarn, and other items to give their stars that "it factor"! Students are REQUIRED to bring an empty (rinsed and dried) 12-16oz. plastic bottle. NOTE: Students will be painting and messy accidents happen. So, please dress your child accordingly or send along an art shirt. Saturdays, March 13, 20 and 27, 10:30-11am.
Cost: $30/student (includes supplies).
